Learning new words is so much fun 🤗🤗🤗- I know that this is NOT a new method of teaching but I really love it and I thought about adding a twist this year. 👉 Instead of having my students repeat the movements after me ( the teacher) , they themselves created the physical embodiments of the words taught here.
The process: “Students look at the pictures of the new words and they think of a physical movement which defines or helps them remember each word “
Penguin 🐧, frog 🐸, fish 🐠, dolphin 🐬 and rabbit 🐇 were the new words taught during this lesson .
It’s as simple as that = zero preparation with so much fun .
Young learners are very energetic and full of creativity.
I usually teach about 5-7 new words per lesson but my students wanted to learn more because they get to move and have fun. They ended up learning about 10 new words.
I love the fact that it’s learning through doing ! I just love teaching .

Language Focus : Vocabulary
Checking your students’ task performance can be exciting and fun. Instead of sticking with traditional methods of writing the answers on the board and having the students copy them, engage your students to check their answers with movement and fun.
All you need to do is decide on the physical movements as determiners for “true” or “false” , “yes” or “no” , “agree” or “disagree”....
your students will love it and you will get instant feedback if there is a difficulty or confusion that students face in one particular task.

The power of “Tapping” and positive energy
It helps students cope with stress, anxiety, fear and other negative feelings.I have been doing affirmations along with a “tapping” exercise with my students for about three years and it has had an empowering effect that even parents at my school were encouraged to practice it with their children. Then, it became a daily “tapping “ exercise at my school as all teachers 👨🏫 👩🏫 at my school do a tapping exercise with their students at the beginning of each lesson. It only take a few minutes but this exercise is worth a try ! You can change the sentences according to the needs of your learners . For example , I use different sentence when my students have an exam or feel angry. I’m sharing a video I prepared in which one of my students demonstrates the “tapping points”.
Positive thinking 🤔 along with a tapping exercise can have a great influence! Stay positive and give it a try🥰
