Two of the faculty members regularly extends financial help to two economically disadvantaged students every year.

The department regularly subscribe research journal like CIFL bulletin, and Indian Literature published by Sahitya Academy.

The departmental faculty represents different committees of the college as part of decentralization of governance.

The department also has a magazine 'The Dawn'.

The department also has two faculty members Dr. H.K. Sahoo and Dr. Ranendra Mohan Deka who have served as Principal and as the Vice-Principal of the college respectively. Dr. Deka has also served as IQAC Co-ordinator for two terms.

Miss Hainasri Wary, one of our students from 5th semester has been selected as the referee for the upcoming football tournament organized by Assam Football Association.
