During the course of this year I have had to learn many things. I had to learn to be determined , brave, and most importantly , I had to learn from my online English 1101 class. This class has had such an impact on me and the way I view the world. After learning about rhetorical thinking I had discovered some traits about me and my unconscious ways of living. I have learned the stages at which writing can go. You write, then draft, peer review, final touches, and submission, then you do it all over again. It is like a cycle, you write, review, and write again. We wrote like this throughout the class and it has taught me how to be diverse with my writing, and how to effectively give feedback. Over the course of this semester we have analyzed different types of writing from different authors. We have looked at web-texts, essays, podcast scripts, and much more. We , as a class, learned how to effectively look at these pieces and to cite our sources correctly. I can carry these tools and resources on to the work place, school , and in my daily life. These skills will follow me into adulthood which I will have to analyze multiple pieces, write , give critical feedback, and I will have to work collaboratively with others. I am so grateful that I was able to take this course and use what I have learned in the future.
This year has been tough for everyone , and as a first time online student I am no different. This year tested me and my patience, my strength , and my stance but here we are at a end of great semester still going. I am so glad I had the opportunity to take this class and to learn so much with Dr. McGinnis. She was such an amazing instructor and the people in the class made it worth while. As we close off the year, we as a class, will go on and continue to learn from beyond Coastal's grounds.
