This semester I have learned a lot. Our first project was proposals and annotated bibliographies. I think I had the most trouble with this project. I had a hard time finding scholarly sources at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was very informal. I learned how to tell if something is a scholarly source and where to find credible ones. I also polished up my MLA format skills when completing this project. I got to the point where I didn't even have to look at the guide anymore to cite my works because I remembered how to do it. The bibliography section was interesting to do as well, as I had never done one before. This was the most challenging project for me, but also the most helpful in teaching me valuable skills.
Our next project (project 2) was a podcast and script page. I did a project almost identical to this last semester and I enjoyed doing it both times. Even though I did a very similar project to this, I still learned a lot this time. I really had to plan and draft my writing differently than I normally would, because I was actually going to be recording it for people to hear. Because I knew that I was going to have to read my script out loud, as I was writing I would have to say some things out loud to see if it sounded ok. That is not something that I normally have to be aware of. Now, whenever I write I tend to ask myself if I were to read this to someone, how would it sound?
Project 3 was a web text that I did with my group. I definitely learned a lot from doing this project. I learned how to get into depth about discussing research that you find. I also learned a lot from my group mates when they would review my work. This project helped me review my work more closely, and also edit more than I usually would. Revising was a big part of this project and I will continue to use the skills I learned during this one. We also had a poster presentation that went along with this project. That was my favorite part because a big part of making a poster is making sure that it is visually pleasing. I think our poster turned out great and I wouldn't change anything about it.
This semester I have learned so much! I will definitely be using the skills that I learned in my writing forever!
