Hello, my name is Joli McCannon. Thank you for visiting my project 2 page! Located here is my podcast, my podcast script link, and my works cited entry. In my podcast, I discuss different scholars' views on racial discrimination in the media. My umbrella topic was racial discrimination, therefore it fits right into that category. There are many different opinions on the media in relation to race. I keep my own opinion out of it but talk about how some scholars view it in my podcast. A couple of scholars believe stereotyping in the media is a big problem and give examples of such. One scholar even discusses a way in which to combat stereotypes in the media. I also include scholar's views on how the dominant race has control of the media and uses it to their advantage. The "colorblind" mindset that some people have and the negative consequences of it are also discussed. I encourage you to take a listen to my podcast and/or view my script, maybe you will hear something that you have seen on the media before or will hear something that you had not thought of before.
