Hide under the desk! Lock the doors! Run as fast as you can! Text your loved ones!...Those are some of the thoughts that run through people's minds when they are victims of a mass shooting. They didn't wake up that morning and think it would be there last day. They were unfortunately at the wrong place at the wrong time. It's heartbreaking to know so many of these events happen in America and the rates continue to rise. Mass shootings are a type of oppression that we need to confront because they are act of violence and rage. They leave a stain on communities and families across the world. Survivors are left with living in fear and the families who lost a loved one will never forget that day. That's why today in my podcast I want to discuss defining mass shootings. I will explain what triggers these aggressive behaviors. Along with ways to prevent these horrific events and raise awareness on ways to detect the warning signs. I will provide information about the role the media plays and if mental health is a factor. Also I will explore one of the biggest topics surrounding mass shootings which is the debate on whether or not stricter gun laws should be in place.
