My favourite Sportsman is Kumar Sankakara. I like him because he helps his team members. He is not only a sportsman but also a lawyer. He is 42 years old and was the former captain of Srilankan cricket team. He had won several matches. He is an inspiration to all athletes.

The place where I live is Jaffna. I like it because it is a natural place. It is not only a town but also a traditional kingdom. It is the symbol of Tamil culture. It was ruled by several kings. Nallur temple and The Jaffna public library are very popular in Jaffna.

I spend my free time by reading books. I like it because it develops my knowledge. It is not only a free time activity but also a personality development tool. I used to read since Grade 08 and a member of our school library. I have read several books. It helps me in my studies too.

An unforgettable day in my life is my birthday. I like it because it was the day I was introduced to this world. I am 17 years old now and going to face Ordinary Level examination this year. I have received several gifts during my birthdays. My next birthday will be so special after my O/L results.

The job I like most is teacher. I like it because it decides the future generation. It is not only a job but also a service. Teaching is like a candle. Students get a bright future because of teachers’ dedicated service. I love teaching.

Cleanliness is very important to all of us because it drives away all the deadly viruses. Cleanliness also keeps our body and mind active. It also expands our life span by enhancing the immunity power in us. The real wealth of a living being is health.

My favourite family member is my father. He is thirty five years old. He is tall. He has a bald head. He is dark in complexion. He is kind. He works in a bank. He loves me. I love him too.

My country is Sri Lanka. It is an island in the Indian Ocean. There are rivers, waterfalls and mountains in my country. Srilanka has a population of nearly twenty two million. There are Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims. But the religion of the state is Buddhism. The traditional name of my country is Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is basically an agricultural country.

My favourite game is basketball. It is a very popular game all over the world. Basketball is played between two teams. Each team has five players. Points are scored by throwing the ball in to the basket fixed at each end of the court. At the end; the team with more points wins the game. It can be played indoors as well as outdoors.

Dr.C.W.W Kannangara was a great man. He was once the minister of education of our country. He introduced the system of free education. He wanted to help underprivileged students of our country. He is called the father of free education.

We all need good, nutritious food. We need energy to play. Students need energy to study. Adults need energy to work. So we must always have a balanced diet because a balanced diet gives us all the nutrients such as carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, protein and fats.
