Academic (interpretive, analytical, argumentative) writing based largely on reading of literary/imaginative texts linked by a common theme or issue. Outside research leading to analysis, comparison, and synthesis in documented research paper.
Prerequisite: English Writing 1A.Development of analytical, integrative skills in reading and writing.

We will be sharpening our critical thinking skills by examining literature. Literature is all around us; it's not just in books, but also in the music we listen to and the movies and tv shows we watch. This will class will help you think critically about the world around you.
One of your first assignments in this class is to get the materials. You can buy these at the De Anza College Bookstore or Amazon.com. Please let me know if you need help getting them!
