We launched the inaugural LSU Semiconductor Fabrication Workshop and hosted undergraduates from LSU and Southern University at the LSU Center for Advanced Microstructures and Devices. The students learned about the fabrication process of computer chips, experienced a hands-on experience in the cleanroom to process silicon wafers, and got to speak with Alan Wright from Intel to learn about exciting career opportunities in the U.S. semiconductor industry.
Thank you to the National Science Foundation Future of Semiconductors program for funding this workforce development opportunity!

We organized a photolithography demonstration for over 50 middle school students from Baton Rouge. The students designed their own photomasks using dry erase markers and transferred the pattern to cyanopaper using sunlight that they got to keep. They also watched a demonstration about overlaying multiple patterns to generate a design.
