Inclusion For Minority Greek Life
Hi! My name is Nichole Fashakin and I am from the DFW area. I'm currently an African American undergrad female student at TCU working towards my Biology degree with a minor in Cultural Awareness in Health Care. My career goal is to become a successful Pediatrician who owns her own clinic along with creating my non-profit organization that will start in Nigeria. In my free time, I love playing volleyball, doing anything related to art, and writing poems.
If I were to rank all of my influencers, of course, my parents would be at the top. They inspire me in several ways, which is why I strive to be a better version of myself every day. All of the challenges my parents endured in order to provide a better life for my brothers and me are admirable. Their determination, strength, and goal-driven perspective have had a huge influence on my mindset and how I want to be perceived. That's why I want to repay them back by letting them know their hardships did not go in vain, instead their dreams for their children became a reality. With this being said, I want to say thank you for being such an inspiration. That is why I want to thank them by assuring them that their sacrifices were not in vain and that their aspirations for their children would become a reality. With that stated, I'd want to thank you for being such an inspiration.
My top three historical influencers are Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Rosa Parks. Each person has characteristics that I admire and want to emulate. I like how all three people are persistent in achieving their goals, regardless of the hurdles they may meet along the way.
