My research goal is to explore how Asian Americans from different ethnic backgrounds can lose their personal and cultural significance through the forgetting of tradition and cultural customs during their life in America. On the flip side, I will also explore how Asian Americans are reconnecting with their heritage through the means of incorporating ethnic customs and traditions in their life. An example would be in fusion weddings, which include the fusion and representation of two cultures in the wedding. The wedding gown will be an example of a how a simple piece of clothing can reconcile to cultures, bringing them both together to relfect the significance of ethnic heritage in the bride's life. The Literature Review will dive into the history and contemporary overview of the wedding gown to provide background for the reader. The goal of the research paper is to express the significance of honoring your roots, culture, heritage, and tradition as an American citizen to relfect your bicultural identity.Â
