Roles and Reflection

Roles

For this project, there were many roles that had to be separated throughout the group. The first thing that was completed was the bridge kit design, which Ryan worked on to create. As Ryan worked on the Bridge Kit Design, Tavion and Teymour focused on creating the Tinkercad model which would later be 3D designed. As they focused on that, Donovan and Ziya started to create the website. Ziya and Ryan worked on the Bridge Designer and focused on trying to create a successful simulation to start understanding Truss bridges. Once Tavion and Teymour had finished the Tinkercad model they moved over to the Model 3D which would be the tool to test the bridge design. In the meantime, Ryan worked on completing the research paper. Once all of the simulations and models had been finished, we started to build the bridge. The entire group contributed to building the project which went successfully. Overall, the roles were very spread out and we were able to complete the workload successfully.

Design Process -

  1. Define the problem.

  2. Generate alternative concepts.

  3. Evaluate and select a concept.

  4. Detail the design.

  5. Design defense.

  6. Manufacture and testing.

  7. Evaluation of performance.

  8. Preparing the final design report.

Reflection

The whole project that spanned for this week, had multiple steps that required hard work and thinking. The first day was mostly planning and sketching. We got to work on drawing the scale model of our bridge and completing the bridge model kit. The next day we started the programs. We each started on a program and completed the task on the same day. We also planned how we were going to build our structure, On Wednesday we got our supplies to build our bridge. We built the design we had on our sketch and the 3D model. We were able to complete everything the day of. We worked on the aesthetics and supports the next day. With this many steps and work, our team bonded even more. Making bridges was interesting and fun. We each had our problems and complications in the project , but we had fun and I think that's what matters.
