The purpose of this course aims to promote and strengthen the use of the basic rules of mathematics as an indispensable tool for the marine engineers during their professional career. By covering some basic topics and applications related to Pre-Algebra, Pre-Calculus and Calculus. This knowledge will make them capable of completing tasks assigned to them, because mathematics in its essence is the pillar for all sciences and technological advancements.

The goal of this course is to promote and strengthen the use of basic engineering drawing facilities in addition to the mechanical engineering drawing concepts as a tool to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for knowledge, understanding, and proficiency that every trainee needs.

The goal of this course is to promote and strengthen the elementary knowledge of the first law of thermodynamics, Gas laws, works transfer, and performance of vapors and Heat Engines as a tool to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for knowledge, understanding, and proficiency that every trainee needs to be able to do tasks.

This course, along with the program of other courses and the trainee’s approved in-service training, aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for knowledge, understanding and proficiency of the STCW 78 as amended. It particularly aims to meet the specific requirements stated in STCW Code, chapter III, section A-III/6 for the functions; “Diesel Engine at the operational level", “Marine Engineering at the operational level” and “Electricity and Automatic control basics”. This practical experience and knowledge will make our Alumni competent for vessels responsibility.

I participated in preparing some curricula for preparatory studies, such as mathematics, physics, and mechanics. I also participated in developing and preparing the basic programs offered by the institute and determining programs learning outcomes (PLOs) and Courses learn outcomes (CLOs) as per IMO model courses and recommendations of IAMU in this context in the light of Global Maritime Professional - Body of Knowledge (GMP-BOK)
