At each ENEAR conference, we reserve a few slots for presentations of research proposals for experiments that have not yet been conducted.
Research proposals will not be assigned discussants, however multiple senior academics have committed to attending the research proposal session(s) and read the proposal in advance to be able to provide useful feedback.
The idea is that the focus of the discussion is on experimental design issues and not the motivation/theory development/writeup, etc.
A proposal should be between three and ten pages long. It should contain a short introduction, one or more hypotheses with a very brief summary of the supporting theory, and a detailed description of the proposed experiment, including the basic design, task or case scenario, manipulation(s), measure of the dependent variable, participants, and procedures.
Ideally, the proposal highlights a few specific design features that the author is still uncertain about and wants to put up for discussion.
