The Endo Laboratory is a newly established research group, launching in June 2026.
Recent breakthroughs in optical science and optical quantum information processing have been fundamentally driven by advances in laser source technology. In our laboratory, we do not regard laser systems as fixed or given tools. Instead, we take the design of the light source itself as a strategic starting point to expand the accessible research space.
We develop ultrashort pulse lasers that simultaneously achieve high repetition rates, high power, and low noise. By designing and constructing these systems in-house, and by optimizing the entire chain from oscillator and amplification to dispersion and phase control, as well as wavelength conversion, we create light sources tailored to specific experimental objectives. This approach enables access to strongly nonlinear regimes and the efficient generation of novel quantum states that are unattainable with conventional sources, thereby pushing the frontiers of research.
Building on advanced light source development, our research extends to nonlinear and quantum optics, optical quantum information processing, and further into emerging areas of physics enabled by quantum interactions between light and matter.
Our goal is not merely to develop light sources, but to use them as a powerful tool to explore previously inaccessible regimes of physics.
