Manual for Brief Interventions

This manual has been prepared for conducting brief intervention session of patient with cannabis use disorders. The manual is intended for use by mental health professionals or any medical practitioners who would like to do brief intervention for patients with cannabis use disorders. The general principles of brief intervention do apply. The manual provides an overview of the intended recipients, information about the theoretical and practical aspects of the session, and about dealing with some of the challenges. One must acknowledge that therapist characteristics may influence the delivery of the brief intervention session. Yet, the manual lays down some of the basic principles of the conducting brief intervention for patient with cannabis use disorders in the Indian clinical setting.
