Dual Diagnosis India Network (DDIN)
The Dual Diagnosis India Network (DDIN) is aimed to be a network of interested addiction psychiatrists from India who would like to deliberate more upon varied issues related to dual diagnosis. Dual diagnosis here refers to the co-occurrence of at least one addictive disorder (including substance use disorder and behavioral addiction), and at least one additional non-addictive psychiatric illness. The needs of patients with dual diagnosis has often been seen to be different from patients with substance use disorder or psychiatric disorder alone, and the outcomes have also been reported to be different. The Dual Diagnosis India Network aims to be an informal interest group with the motive of promoting discussion on dual diagnosis in India. This is likely to enhance mutual learning, sharing of experiences and conducting of collaborative research in the field of dual diagnosis.
