Funerals

During the funeral service/memorial service/celebration of life the ENC NHG members stand guard. The Nightingale Tribute and Nurse's Pledge are performed, a poem is read followed by the Nurse's prayer and then a final call to duty is announced, with the nurse being called three times after the third call, the Nurse is then released from their nursing duties, as their work on earth is done and ends with the Nightingale lamp being forever extinguished and presented to the family. (Much like a flag presentation is at a Military funeral.) This service is performed at no cost to the family.
