Are you ready to prove your strength?
Puzzles & Potions is a game that centers around your ability to think quick and stay mysterious
Game Objective: The objective of Puzzles & Potions is to reach the end of the gameboard before your opponents by correctly guessing the moderator's word
Number of Players: 3 to 4
Type of Game: Strategic Guessing Game
Setup:
First ensure you have everything you need to start the game. A list of neccessary materials can be found in the Game Construction tab above.
Next have each player choose a color (red, yellow, green, or blue), which will remain theirs for the entire game. Decide who will be the moderator of the first round (oldest/youngest person, last to touch their nose, etc), and have them press the blue start button to indicatate that all players are ready to begin.
Gameplay:
Displayed on the LCD will be a category which the moderator will use as inspiration for their mystery word. The players take turns asking questions to the moderator with the aim of figuring out the word. The strategy arrives in asking questions that are specific enough to help you, without alerting the other players. You can use your questions however you want, so casting some tricks by asking misleading questions is fair game!
When a player wants to make a guess they must press the button that correlates with their color. If they guess incorrectly, the moderator presses the black descision button. Players keep guessing until someone is correct. Once this happens, the moderator pushes the white decision button to signify the round winner and the Arduino rolls a die. The winning player then moves their token forward that many spaces on an accompanying game board.
Though it sounds easy enough, advancing players must beware the tricks and treats hidden across the board as some can give you a boost, while others set you back.
The following is a breakdown of the gameboard special spaces:
After the round ends, the winning player becomes the new moderator, and the game commences again with a new category when the start button is pressed. This process continues until one of the players reaches the end of the gameboard and the LCD displays the champion wizard!
Category will be randomly selected and displayed at the start of each round
Wizard's LED will light up when they have won the Round
After the Wizard wins the round, they will be told how many spaces to move
