Emrah Onat received a B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2009 and an M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2014 and 2020, respectively.
From 2009 to 2013, he was a researcher at the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK-ILTAREN). From 2013 to 2017, he worked as a systems engineer in Space and Defence Technologies (SDT), Ankara, Turkey. In 2017, he joined ESEN System Integration as an algorithm team leader and finished several direction-finding and localization projects with his teams. He is also a part-time lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at TOBB University of Economics and Technology, and his research interests include radar signal processing, synthetic aperture radar, Doppler beam sharpening, remote sensing, interferometry, electronic warfare, sensor array signal processing, direction finding, and localization. Since the beginning of 2022, he has been working as a Signal Processing Lead and then as Head of R&D at Siliconally GmbH, a company majority owned by BOSCH, Dresden, Germany.
Emrah Onat also received a B.A. degree in the Faculty of Law from Ankara University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2022.
