Emrah Onat received his B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Türkiye, in 2009, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Hacettepe University, Ankara, Türkiye, in 2014 and 2020, respectively.
From 2009 to 2013, he worked as a researcher at the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TUBITAK-ILTAREN). Between 2013 and 2017, he served as a systems engineer at Space and Defence Technologies (SDT), Ankara, Türkiye. In 2017, he joined the Electronic Warfare Directorate of ESEN System Integration as an algorithm team leader. ESEN is an affiliated company of the US-based Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC). He has also been a part-time lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at TOBB University of Economics and Technology. His research interests include radar signal processing, electronic warfare, sensor array signal processing, direction finding, and signal processing for communications.
From 2022 to 2025, he worked as a Signal Processing Lead and later as Head of R&D at Siliconally GmbH, a company majority-owned by BOSCH, in Dresden, Germany. At the end of 2025, he joined Microchip Technology Inc. as a Senior Technical Staff Design Engineer.
In addition, Emrah Onat earned a B.A. degree from the Faculty of Law at Ankara University, Ankara, Türkiye, in 2022.
