Empty bowls is a fundraiser organized by CSUS students in ART 50 (beginning wheel ceramics). Empty bowls fundraisers are a tradition in the ceramics community where potters donate bowls and other vessels to be sold in order to raise money for a local food pantry, food bank or other similar organization. Items being sold at this event have been made by ART 50 students, other CSUS students, students from local high schools (I will add in their names), and local potters. A portion of these proceeds of this fundraiser will be donated to the ASI Food Pantry at Sac State in support of their mission to provide food and basic necessities to Sac State students. It is also traditional to serve soup as part of an empty bowls event and we are proud to be able to partner with local business who have donated soup, bread, drinks, and other goods. In addition to all of the wonderful donations and bowls contributed, Alpha Fired Arts has graciously agreed to host this event at their studio, please check out the details below.
