Dr. Abad is also a prolific researcher, writer, and editor. Significantly, he is one of the first scholars to research internal migration in the Philippines as well as Filipino immigrants in the U.S. With extreme passion and adoration in the field of writing, one of his memorable contributions is the days when he has served as editor of the Philippine Sociological Review, associate editor of Philippine Studies, and editor of the social science edition of the Loyola Schools Review. Consequently, his skills continue to ignite as he consistently produces essays on various theater performances.
He is a well-known enthusiast in both the erudite spaces of the Philippine academia and the creative world of the theatre. Upon returning in the Philippines after having a very blastful doctoral degree in New York, he partakes into the leadership positions as he embarks on the academic career, joining the Ateneo de Manila University’s Department of Sociology and Anthropology (DSA). Later on, as he continues to foster young minds and competitive individuals through teaching inspiring techniques, resulted for him to gain popularity and recognitions.
