What does "boundaries" mean? The limits we place on our time, resources, physical body, emotions and intellectual spaces based on what we value. Boundaries can be firm and healthy, or they could be porous and weak.
As school and community based educators who are prone to burn-out, we want to make sure that we have a space for lessons, articles, professional development as well as resources for self-care specifically tailored to people working with and members of marginalized communities.
Healthy boundaries help us understand what is most valuable to us and how to say no to protect ourselves and become healthy again. We don't wanna say no to everything, but we don't wanna say yes to everything. We wanna know what's inside of our value system, and just because there is something that works for somebody else, that doesn't mean that it works for you.
