Heejoo Kim

Heejoo earned her B.A. in Developmental Psychology from the University of Michigan and later completed her M.A. degree in Child Psychology and Education at SKKU. With a focus on children and adolescents with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder, she is interested in understanding how specific cognitive factors (e.g, rigidity or theory of mind in ASD) and emotional factors (e.g., low emotional understanding) influence the emotion regulation process. Outside of her studies, she loves messing around in the water, shooting the breeze, and soaking up the scent of burning wood.

Master's Students

Yunsu Kim

Yunsu earned her B.S. in Public Administration and Psychology from SKKU. Her research interest revolves around the appraisal and regulation of emotions in the context of depression, including beliefs about emotions, emotional awareness and positive emotion regulation. Apart from her academic pursuits, she loves reading good books and playing the piano.


Eunbi Kang

Eunbi received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from SKKU. Her research interests include optimal well-being after suicidal behaviors, emotion regulation and well-being, depression, and happiness. Outside of the lab, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, listening to music, and going to concerts or festivals.


Sooyeon Kim

Sooyeon majored in Art and Psychology at SKKU. Her interests broadly lie in emotion and emotion regulation in daily life, with a special focus on the role of culturally-driven desired affect and pro/contra-hedonic motivation in the emotion regulation strategies used in the response modulation phase. In her free time, she enjoys meeting her friends, crocheting, and exploring nature. 


Gyuseok Choi

Gyuseok majored in Portuguese and Psychology at Dankook University. He is interested in understanding why depressed individuals struggle to regulate their emotions and whether they employ cognitive reappraisal as intended. Other than research, Gyuseok enjoys coffee, fitness, and playing badminton.


Jaeyeon Jang

JaeYeon majored in Psychology at SKKU. Interested in daily life variables like physical activity and social rhythm that impact mental health, he wants to learn and study variables related with emotion (i.e. emotion regulation goals and motivations). During his free time, he enjoys the physical activities such as weight training and hiking and loves eating delicious foods from around the world.

Nayeon Kim

Nayeon studied Psychology(BSc) at University of Bristol, UK. Her resrach interests include individual differences in emotion reactivity and emotion sensitivity, personality traits and emotion regulation, and minfulness-based interventions. During her free time, she enjoys taking photos of nature and animals, going to concerts, listening to music on speakers or LPs, and collecting cute things.

Seojeong Kim

Seojeong received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She is interested in how emotions are experienced and regulated in daily life, particularly the gap between emotion regulation ability and achievement across individuals with emotional disorders. In her free time, she enjoys camping, reading, and exploring coffee shops in her city.

Eunseo Soh

Eunseo studied Social Psychology at SMWU. She is broadly interested in how individuals cope with various emotions, focusing on interpersonal emotion regulation and digital emotion regulation strategies in daily life contexts. She enjoys exploring new eateries and digging into something interesting. She also loves chilling at home with her plants and books.

Moonjeong Kang

Moonjeong received her B.A. in Psychology from Sogang University. She is currently enrolled as a graduate student in the sport psychology program at Florida State University. Her research interests include how culture and diversity are linked to emotion, and the role of sport and physical activity on mental health.

Chaeyeon Yang

Chaeyeon received her B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Sogang University. Her research interests include emotion regulation flexibility and social contexts in emotion regulation.
