Week of Mathematical Exploration

EWoME

Emory Math Circle’s “Week of Mathematical Exploration” is a program for high school and middle school students (typically these students also attended Emory Math Circle) to work on mini research problems in small groups. Each day there is also a guest faculty lecturer. The students present their findings at the end of the week.

The Summer 2020 program has been canceled due to COVID-19

Description:

This program is for curious and self-directed students who want to go deeper into investigating a single mathematical topic or question than is possible in a regular math circle class. Under the mentorship of Emory graduate students, participants will get a taste of what it’s like to do mathematics research. The program ends with participants presenting on their findings to the rest of the group. Along the way, we’ll also set aside some time for fun group activities and guest speakers.
