Henry Pang (he/him) is a senior at Emory from London. With a martial arts background, Henry started his dance studies in his Freshman year. Now, as President of the club, he teaches Ballroom and Latin at events across the Emory campus and competes around the US with the competition team. He enjoys teaching and his favourite dances are the Tango, Rumba, and West Coast Swing!
Madeleine Szabo (she/her) is a third-year at Emory studying Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology and Anthropology. She began performing with EBDC in 2022 and competing in 2023. She is currently involved with the Hackney Neurokinesiology Lab at the Emory Medical School, where she assists in research related to adapted Argentine Tango as an intervention for Parkinson's Disease patients. Some of her favorite dances include Slow Fox, Jive, Quickstep, Tango, and West Coast Swing.
Rachel Jiang (she/her) is a second-year at Emory. She is from Hong Kong, and is majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Law on the pre-law track. Other than ballroom, she enjoys playing tennis and running in her free time. Rachel’s favorite dances are Samba and Tango.
Monica Duan (she/her) is a senior at Emory and captain of the competition team. While she's been ballroom dancing since childhood, she would say that dancing with her friends in the Emory Ballroom Dance Club has truly been the greatest joy. Outside of ballroom, she studies chemistry and plans to attend medical school following graduation. Monica's favorite dances are Rumba & Samba.
Kaley Frye (she/her) is a third year at Emory. She is originally from Orlando, Florida, and is majoring in Psychology and Linguistics, with a minor in French. Outside of ballroom, she is involved with linguistics research at the University of Central Florida, and is currently serving as the Emory Concert Choir Vice President. She has been ballroom dancing for 2 years. Kaley's favorite dances are Quickstep and East Coast Swing.
Andrew Jacobson (he/him) is a second-year at Emory University currently thinking about a Chemistry major and minor in Classic Civilization. His favorite dances are Tango and Waltz and he can often be seen practicing his ballroom footwork as he walks to class. His favorite part of ballroom is preparing for competition and the game nights at the end of the semester. When he is not dancing or studying he enjoys rock climbing and judo.
Wesley Leong (he/him) is a second-year at Emory University, and he is majoring in Chemistry with an Applied Math minor. He started dancing last year, and his favorite dances are Tango and East Coast Swing. When he’s not busy dancing, you can find him promoting positive mental health through Asian Health Alliance and planning events for the American Medical Student Association. You might also find him leading a health class as a peer health partner or a learning assistant session for chemistry! In his free time, he loves to crochet plushies and clothes for his friends (go follow @crochet_by_wes on Instagram)!
Sarah Weiss (she/her) is a senior undergraduate and outgoing event coordinator for the 2024-2025 academic year. She has been dancing with EBDC since November of 2021, and performing with the club since October of 2023. Her favorite aspect of ballroom dance is attending socials; she has received the most joy from her experiences meeting other dancers at UGA, Georgia Tech, and beyond. She values the time she spent planning and hosting social dances for the Emory Ballroom community. This spring, Sarah will graduate with a Bachelor’s in human health; she plans to pursue a career in epidemiology after Emory and continue dancing at socials. Her favorite styles of dance are Lindy Hop and East Coast Swing.
