SPONSORING EMMET’S PLAYGROUND
Our son, Emmet, was a boy with great promise and passions. He loved roller coasters, skateboarding, the Simpsons, and living in Stamford. When he was 9, he was diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare blood disorder. He fought valiantly for over 18 months, but ultimately he succumbed to his disease on September 25, 2019, one month shy of his 11th birthday.
Emmet attended Stark Elementary School and was a member of Temple Beth El in Stamford. He played on Stamford American Little League baseball teams, swam at the JCC, and spent summers at Long Ridge Day Camp and Newfield Swim Club. He was a “Stamford-ite” through and through, and he despaired being away from his beloved town while he was being treated at Boston Children’s Hospital.
To memorialize Emmet’s joy and love of Stamford, we are building a playground at Temple Beth El. We have mobilized Emmet’s friends and cousins to help us: they are advising us on playground equipment, they are running their own fundraisers, and they are helping us heal; we hope this playground will help them too. The playground will be open to all children, and it will be accessible for children with special needs.
We humbly ask for your help in building this playground. As a sponsor:
