I had the wonderful opportunity to contribute to the Environmental Leadership Program at the University of Oregon. I was a part of the Wild Wanderers team, guiding first-grade classrooms on outdoor education field trips and in-class lessons. Through this project, I stepped up to a leadership role, gaining communication and critical thinking skills. As a team, we developed curriculum and gave each other meaningful feedback in order to be the best educators possible. This project was highly effective, students met learning outcomes and created meaningful relationships to the world around them.
On May 22nd 2025, I presented at the Undergraduate Research Symposium. As a group, we presented our results from our educational lessons and field trips. I began the presentation with a story encapsulating our work as a team. I described our mission and the magic of what we do. Our goal of the presentation was to continue our work for the attendees, inspiring them to connect and wonder about nature.
