In 2015, the United Nations developed an initiative to address the global challenges that interconnect our world. This initiative is to be achieved by 2030 through the Sustainable Development Goals. In order for us to move forward with protecting climate change on our planet, we need to consider increasing the global competency of our students. Global competency can be incorporated into any grade or subject at any time by looking at improvements to our current curriculums. If we can teach our students to investigate the world, recognize different perspectives, communicate ideas effectively, and inspire them to take action for the future, they will be better equipped for THEIR future.

Consider inviting me speak to your administration, faculty and staff, or a small group of educators. I can share general strategies of where to start on your SDGs journey as you begin to incorporate global competency in your district. I am also happy to share a more personal look at my time as a Fulbright alumni, its impact on my music teaching, and how YOU can also become part of the Fulbright family.
As I move forward from Fulbright, global competency is at the forefront of my music planning and implementation. I have lessons, units, and performances built around increasing global awareness that are customizable for your students and school community. Please reach out! I will share all that I have!
