I grew up in Gladstone, Oregon, right outside of Portland. I spent many summers hiking up and down the coast range, fishing and camping in Mount Hood's forests, cliff diving in the Umpqua River, and playing water sports in the Columbia River Gorge!
Living in Oregon, I fell in love with the outdoors, so after graduating from high school in 2018, I moved to Wisconsin where I received my B.S. in environmental geology.
During my time at Beloit, I was selected for the Beloit College Rivers in Transition program, where I designed a research project on the geology of the Yellow River in Henan Province, China, and traveled there during the summer of 2019 to collect data!
During the summer of 2021, I was selected to participate in the SHyNE REU at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where I spent 3 months collecting data for my undergraduate thesis on their amazing collection of scanning electron microscopes!
I am now continuing my geology education by pursuing a master's degree at the University of Wyoming!
