Call for Participation

We’re bringing together academics and professionals to explore the design challenges and opportunities that have arisen from developments in three developing areas: the VR/360 video space, voice interactions, and engagement of younger audiences. If you work in this area, please consider joining us.

The workshop can accommodate up to 30 participants, so if applicants exceed this number, participants will be selected based on both their date of application and CV/resume to ensure a variety of viewpoints and expertise are represented.

If you’re interested in attending, please send an email to yttvx2017@gmail.com with the following requirements:

  • PARTICIPANTS must include their CV/resume, and 1-2 paragraphs discussing their background and existing work in the TV/online video space.
    • May 3: accepted participants will be notified (in time for early bird registration)
    • May 4 - June 8: Rolling acceptance for participants only on a first-come, first-served basis, until workshop capacity is reached.
  • PRESENTERS who have experience with VR/360 video, voice interactions, or young age groups, must include a 2-4 page position paper, in the SIGCHI Format. The paper should highlight novel insights or work in progress that can be shared with the workshop audience in order to generate ideas for brainstorming. It should also reference any related work and explain methods or processes used.
    • March 21: deadline to apply
    • April 3: accepted presenters will be notified (in time for early bird registration)
    • April 28: deadline for accepted presenters to submit camera-ready position papers (to be published in the TVX 2017 conference proceedings)
