In this tour students meet Lisa - a 000 Call Taker at the NSW Ambulance Call Centre in Alexandria, Corey - a dispatch officer at the same centre, and Relgin - a paramedic. They learn about the work these people do, as well as what to expect when they call 000, and in what situations ambulances are required, and when they are not.
The student workbook contains QR codes that link to individual images. The best way to approach this lesson is to follow the slides, which correspond to the workbook. Students scan each QR code and listen and answer questions. There are activities to do before each image.
The full tour (as seen below) contains both audio and text, allowing students to listen and read at the same time. This is why it's better for students to experience each image one by one, with the audio only, and then experience the full tour, with both audio and text.
Click on the hotspots embedded in the tour to listen, and use the arrows to progress from one image to the next. You can access the tour here, and it's also available in the teacher slides and student workbook.
