Periomedicine

is the branch of dentistry that studies systemic problems related to dental or periodontal issues, such as chronic abscesses or periodontitis. These conditions result in the body producing a lot of detrimental substances (such as interleukin IL6) that affect overall health.

Therefore, it's very important to have regular checkups to check if perhaps the habit of clenching has generated a silent abscess, with or without a fistula ( a little pimple on the gum, at the apex of the tooth,  that is the natural intraoral exit of the pus from a chronic "silent" abscess) . Is also very important to maintain daily hygiene, as the "gut microbiome" (intestinal flora ) is strictly related to the "oral microbiome" wich is related to the type of breathing, the PH of the blood due to type of food intake and the mindset  .
