I'm a moral philosopher with an interest in philosophy of mind and aesthetics. My current DFG project is on suffering and its role in virtue ethics. I'm based at the Philosophy Department of the University of Tübingen, Germany, where I've been working since October 2009.

I did my Phd on emotions and values at the University of York, UK. Before that I studied in Freiburg, Seattle, Linköping and Marburg. 

I'm a big fan of Iris Murdoch, Jane Austen, Europe (both band and union, but more band) and I'm a supporter of 1. FC Köln.
