HAIR FOR RECITAL
Dancers hair should be in a center part, mid bun. Please see the following steps for making the perfect bun!
Step One: Start with slightly damp hair. If your hair is oily or dirty, wash it and let it dry completely before styling.
Step Two: Use a comb to detangle your hair thoroughly. This will help in achieving a smooth finish.
Step Three: Create a middle part by using the comb to divide your hair evenly down the center of your head. Ensure both sides are symmetrical.
Step Four: Gather all of your hair at the middle of your head, making sure the part remains straight. Use your fingers or the comb to smooth out any bumps or flyaways. You can measure the middle of the head by drawing a line with your fingers from the top of the ears to the back of the head until fingers meet.
Step Five: Secure your hair with an elastic band. Make sure it is tight enough to hold the hair in place.
Step Six: Twist the gathered hair lightly to create a bun shape. You can use a bun maker if you wish.
Step Seven: Wrap the twisted hair around the base of the ponytail to form a bun.
Step Eight: Use a hair net and hair pins to secure the bun in place. Insert them at different angles to ensure it is stable. Make sure to connect bun to head.
Step Nine: Apply a styling gel or pomade to the hair around your hairline and any flyaways. Use your fingers or a comb to smooth down the product for a sleek look.
Step Ten: Finish with hairspray to hold everything in place.
