Ellyssa Polley has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre: Design and Technology. While continuing design work at her university, Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) at Janine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance, she had also been drawing and writing her own works in her spare time. Ellyssa'sgoal with this degree is to one day open and run her own theatre.
Ellyssa is the self-published author of Dance My Memories Away, an ongoing fantasy book series set in a steam punk world. She hopes to be able to turn the story and all of it's progress into both a vertical scroll comic, and in a visual form as well, be that a drama, movie, or stage production. Currently, Book I and Book II are published, with Book III set to publish soon.
Ellyssa had completed a study abroad internship in Seoul, South Korea, with GPJ Korea (The Korean branch of George P. Johnson: Experience Marketing), and the experience had helped her further develop and hone her goal. During her time at SEMO she had gotten experience in a leadership position, while working as a Resident Assistant for the Residence Life on campus. Ellyssa had received the MVP Administrative Excellence award from Residence Life right before she graduated the university.
Ellyssa has worked in all areas of theatre, from director to usher. She has been the board operator for lights, sound, and projections, she has hung and focused lights and speakers, helped build and strike stage sets, and construct costumes and apply stage makeup, along with helping front-of-house and stage management.
