Before (December 2020)

When she first started drawing digital, it was hard to transfer the knowledge she knew in traditional into the digital world. Starting out with Adobe Photoshop, she tried to work with the different layers, and adding color.

After (May 2023)

However, as time progressed, she was able to grasp more so the concepts of drawing digitally. It took some trial and error to find her niche, and now, she uses Clip Studio Paint for her art pieces that could take days to complete.

A Brief Touch on Alcohol Markers and Colored Pencils

Ellyssa hasn't used alcohol markers for long, and hasn't dabbled in colored pencils much, however, she is still making efforts to learn in those areas, and taking the effort to mix the two mediums of drawing together.

Good Old Fashioned Paper and Pencil

While most of the time, Ellyssa resorted to drawing realistic with her pencil drawings, there are still some moments, where she had drawn semi-realistic or rather no where close to realism.

Trying Realism in Digital

The next big step that Ellyssa took in her digital art journey was taking the knowledge she knew in drawing traditional realism and putting that into practice into her digital work.

But with time and practice, she was able to essentially re-learn how to draw realistic pieces.

It was now time, to try out fully rendered pieces, instead of just simple sketches.

Won the CSP 37th International Art Contest Challenger Award

Like a lot of art, it took time to truly establish her craft, but as time progresses, she really does enjoy it, and is able to branch out and try new and different things, like creating little chibi characters, or drawing backgrounds... every once in a long while.
