About Leah

Leah Ellis, M. Ed., is an experienced special education teacher since 2004. She is licensed in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, and Learning Disabilities. Leah won the Edina Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year award in 2018. She has served on various school and district committees, as well as facilitates training opportunities for school staff.

Leah specializes in working with students with social learning challenges. She has taught social skills using the various Social Thinking (R) curriculum, MindUP curriculum, as well as using cognitive behavioral strategies, direct social instruction, as well as visual supports and social stories (just to name a few).

Leah is passionate about her work and connects with students and their families with enthusiasm and authenticity. She is able to make intuitive connections with students and pair it with effective instruction. This leads to meaningful working relationships and true growth for students.
