Uses of Formaldehyde

Formaldehyde is used as an industrial chemical in the manufacturing of polymers. It is also a chemical they use to preserve recently deceased people so that their decaying slows down. Formaldehyde is used in many everyday things that you would not expect, like treated lumber, paper, and in sugar. 

Formaldehyde is a highly used chemical, and it was ranked among the top 25 highest volumes of chemicals produced in the US.
