Research

My research falls at the thresholds of literature, philosophy, and the modern social sciences. I am interested in how the intersections of these fields reveal much about the enduring power of literature as a mode of expression and, indeed, as an indispensable epistemology. I am continually drawn to the spaces where creative expression meets ethics, where imaginative acts meet objective reality, where fiction meets truth.

Works in progress include articles on J. M. Coetzee and the minds of others; Derrida, Marcel Mauss, and the risks of hospitality; and the parallel ambitions of anthropology and autobiography.
