About Elliot Shaw

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies at the University of Georgia. I recently successfully defended my dissertation, "The Apperceived Self: A Framework for Theories of Subjectivity," which argues that apperception's centrality to early modern theories of subjectivity is traceable in contemporary theories of such.

Before coming to the CLIS program at UGA, I studied and taught at various universities in south Florida for several years. Outside of academic work, I am an aspirational home cook and devotee of my wife, Eleonor, and our daughter, Liana, who we welcomed in 2023.
