Teaching Video

This lesson was part of my thematic unit about the Earth, taught over zoom. Using digital software and screensharing capabilities, I worked with my students to write a short composition. We based the composition on different types of birds that they came up with, and used various tools on Chrome Music Lab to make sounds inspired by the birds. The activity encouraged them to to be creative and responsive to their ideas through music. My students absolutely loved using Chrome Music Lab and came very prepared to show me their favorite tools on it. Because of their familiarity and their engagement in preparing for this lesson, they thought critically about how they might want to represent different birds with this software at their disposal.

Themed Curriculum Project: Life on Earth

With two of my peers, I created a curriculum project based on an overall theme - "Life on Earth." While each activity is rooted in music and helps students develop their musical skills, each activity comes back to the overall theme of Life on Earth.
