Sentric Music, Liverpool Office
September 2024 - December 2024
Music Publishing, ong Onboarding and Processing
At Sentric, I have been placed into the ‘Song Onboarding and Processing’ Team. This team is responsible for reviewing and onboarding all new song data that comes into Sentric from songwriters and processing any song and writer amendments they receive.
It acts as a great introduction to the world of Music Publishing as working with this team, I will gain a good understanding of the various data points that are crucial to ensuring the accurate registration of our writer's songs at the collection societies around the world and how these data points link to royalty collection.
I will be able to engage in sessions with the other rights teams. This will allow me to learn about the different elements of copyright management that the team covers, this will include:
New client set up.
Society and client communications.
Live claims.
Neighboring rights and activity tracking.
1 Month at Sentric Entry:
October 30th marked my first month as an intern at Sentric.
In my role, I’ve already gained so much knowledge about the world of music publishing. Working within the Song Onboarding and Rights team has allowed me to take on key responsibilities, including registering new works and handling song registration updates.
Part of my role involves carefully reviewing the data provided by Sentric’s talented musicians and making sure everything is accurate before it’s sent off to their global network of royalty collection partners (like PRS in the UK). This way, the royalties go directly into the artist's pocket!
I’m learning something new every day—about royalty collection, artist relationships, live performance registrations, copyright law, and more. I’m excited for the rest of my time here at Sentric, and I’m passionate about building a career within this industry!
