Network Analysis of Bike Sharing Programs

1. Find most popular bike-share routes for subscribers and non-subscribers.

2. Create a subscriber and non-subscriber network of popular routes.

3. Describe the points of interest around each stop in the network.

4. Create a map of the networks and POIs for each city.

As a group member on this project my fellow member and I worked to examine the bike share programs and found the following:

1. Results suggest that subscribers and non-subscribers had geographically different routes

• Based on geography of favored stations and shortest paths

2. Results suggest that subscriber-favored stations tend to have a higher percentage of local POIs than non-subscriber stations.

• Subscriber-favored stations within distance of higher proportion of local POIs

• Non-subscriber stations within distance of higher proportion tourist POIs
