ReadWriteThink.org is a free site that provides classroom resources (interactives, lesson plans, etc.) as well as parent and afterschool resources. This site is provided by National Council of Teacher of English (NCTE) and International Literacy Association.

Storybird provides students with easy book creater. Using the vast number of images/themes, students can create picture books, story books, chapter books, and even poetry.

Newsela provides current topics that are adaptive for different reading levels in your classroom. Each Newsela text is offered at 5 reading levels, with an entire catalogue of content differentiated for grades 2-6. Your search for content that is both engaging and age-appropriate is over. There is both a free and paid subscription available.

Read Theory fosters a dynamic classroom environment. Teachers who use our program gain the freedom to provide more individualized instruction, and we provide detailed reports so teachers can track student progress using statistics, graphs, and charts. After an initial assements, student activities are differentiate based upon their performance and progression.

ReadWorks provides a large database of articles that include audio for our struggling readers. Each article comes with StepRead1 or 2 (simplified text if needed), question sets, and vocabulary that can be included.

PBS Learning Media has many amazing resources including interactives that are instanting applicable in the classroom. Check out this one on the "at" Family. You can quickly search by grade level, subject, and the type of resource you are wanting.

Great Websites for Kids is provided by the American Library Association and Association for Library Service to Children. You can search for Literature and Language and find many great resources including author pages.

Interactive Sites for Education is provided by Karen Ogen. You can search under English Language Arts and find activities for everything from ABCs to Phonics.

Discovery for Education has many free resources for teachers. Once you are logged in, you can search by subject, grade, and topic to find materials for your class.
