Magnetic Spice Rack: Ok...so these are technically listed on amazon as magnetic spice racks, but realized they had a much better use. I hang them on my magnetic whiteboard for all my supplies I need at the board. I have a tin bucket for my projector and Apple TV remote, and tin buckets for my expo markers and erasers. My students know that these supplies are for my use only, so now they aren't grabbing them for their own personal use. This was on of the best Amazon purches I've ever made for my classroom.
Velcro dots: My intial use for these were to be able to hang things on boards that were walls and not bulletin boards. We all know in those older school buildings with chalkboards that we like to cover them with paper and make a board. Trouble is we can't use staples or push pins on them. I have a Sudoku Board that I bought of TpT. Behind this board is slate from the chalkboard so I used velcro dots. Not only does the board stay up, but the students can manipulate the pieces. They also work great for calendars! What I have also discovered you can just use velcro dots for those pesky wall hangings that just fall when its humid, we've been there. Don't worry about the velcro dots ruining your walls either, they peel off pretty easy when you want them to.
They come in different colors too:
Zipper Pouches: At the beginning of every school year I like to provide a couple sharpened pencils, a glue stick, a few erasers (pencil tops and blocks), and a bookmark. It's always a nice way to welcome your students and make sure they have the supplies necessary to start. I teach in 5th grade and we have our classes switch classrooms for different subjects. Therefore, they are bringing their supplies with them. Pencil boxes are never a good idea when students are on the move. My team and I have always encouraged students have a zip up pencil case. I've never found them afforadle enough to buy them myself, so I just bought a few to store for the students in need. Then I discovered these on Amazon and I couldn't beat the price! I was even more enthused when they came in and I saw how durable and cute they actually were. My whole team bought them.
Plastic Zipper Envelopes: Speaking of zipper pouches, these have been the most useful in my classroom. I teach math and have math centers that implement in my classroom. Every week I have different centers that I need to change out. However, when I am done using that math center I need to store it. I use to store them in manilla envelopes, but it was always messy and I could never remember by the title I put on the envelope what they game or center was. These plastic zipper pouches were the perfect alternative. I can see the center in the pouch and they store nicely in a file cabinet, file bin, or a shelf.
Speaking of centers, I use these Steralite bins for my math centers. Students grab the bin they need and its super easy for them to use at their table and put back when they're finished.
Dry Erase Pockets: I have been using these for years!! What I love best about these is that I can draw or print any template for my math lessons and just stick it into the pocket. I keep all my templates in the pocket and have the students find the one we're using and bring it to the front. Number lines, area models, number charts, you name it, it's in there.
Rug: This rug was specifically made for a classroom. It's nylon made, machine washable, and anti-slip. It doesn't curl like other rugs I have had in the past. I love the circles on the rug, I use them as assigned seats on the rug. Works out perfectly.
