When life gets busy, creativity doesn’t disappear — it just goes quiet.
'Find Your Fire' is a small-group, all-inclusive weekend retreat at a private farmhouse setting in Somerset designed to help you soften the noise, steady your nervous system, and reignite the creative embers that never went out.
Grounded in Chinese Five-Element Theory and held in the Year of the Fire Horse, this retreat leans into the qualities of Fire — joy, expression, connection and creative courage — while also gently restoring balance across all five elements.
This weekend is for you if:
Your light feels dimmed
Life feels uncentred and you feel over-extended
You can't remember the last time you felt free to play and make without pressure to be perfect
You feel constrained by to do lists, deadlines and trying to get everything done according to everyone else's schedules
You’ve ever been told you “can’t draw” or you’re “not arty”
If art classes at school left you feeling more judged than inspired, you're not alone. Both Ruth and Paula were told they weren't arty when they were younger — but they were too rebellious to believe it. But here's what we've learned: creativity isn't a gift that's handed out to a lucky few. It's something that's already within you, just waiting for the chance to come out and play when you feel safe enough to let it.
As busy midlife mums raising neurodivergent children, and as business owners juggling all the moving parts of family, work, and life, we know how easy it is to put yourself at the bottom of the list. So much of our time is spent organising, supporting, problem-solving, and keeping everything ticking along. It's no wonder that creativity, joy, and self-expression can get squeezed out. That's why creating these spaces matters so much to us — they're a chance to pause, reconnect with yourself, and remember that you deserve time for your own growth and enjoyment too.
We created this because we were tired of the idea that art has to follow rules or be "good enough" to count. We want to give people permission to colour outside the lines, trust their intuition, and enjoy the process without worrying about the outcome. This is about open-hearted creativity, self-expression, and discovering what happens when you quieten the inner critic and let yourself explore. No judgement, no expectations, no pressure — just a warm, welcoming space to be yourself and see where your creativity takes you.
Being surrounded by nature, immersed in the elements and feeling connected.
Heart-led intuitive creating, free from the inner critic.
No pressure. In tune with your own rhythms. Time to just be.
Burning away constraints, breathing deeply and relaxing in good company.
Over the weekend you’ll be guided through a nourishing blend of creative and wellbeing practices, including:
The 5-Element Cycle: A structured yet fluid day moving through Water (flow), Wood (growth), Fire (expression), Earth (grounding), and Metal (clarity).
Tactile Exploration: Mindful Chinese brush painting, energetic mark-making, and transformative clay work.
Holistic Integration: Opening and closing ceremonies featuring qigong movements, conscious breathing, and visualization.
Nourishment: High-quality, fresh catering designed to support your energy throughout the day.
A Judgment-Free Space: A neurodivergent-friendly and accessible studio environment where the goal is "messy honesty" rather than gallery masterpieces.
You won’t be rushed. You won’t be judged. And you don’t need any experience — just curiosity.
The retreat is designed as a weekend journey inspired by the five elements, combining creativity, reflection, mindfulness, and time in nature.
The programme balances guided activities with opportunities to relax and connect with the surroundings.
Arrival and Welcome - Participants arrive at the retreat centre and settle into the cottages, shepherd's huts, or annex accommodation. The weekend begins with an introduction to the space and the overall five-elements theme, welcome dinner and guided full moon meditation.
Earth - The opening creative session focuses on grounding through clay work. Participants create pieces using natural textures and materials, encouraging a connection with nature and hands-on creativity. Air-drying clay was chosen so everyone can take their creations home.
Wood - Creative expression continues with large-scale painting using bold colours, alongside journaling and coaching exercises to help participants explore their creative voice and personal growth.
Fire - A fire-based evening activity provides space for reflection and release. Saturday evening also includes use of the sauna and jacuzzi facilities after dinner, supporting relaxation and wellbeing.
Metal - Cutting away what's no longer needed and sharpening focus on what's really important.
Water - The retreat concludes with a closing ceremony focused on integration and flow. The water element centres on meditation and reflection, with quiet contemplative activities.
Optional beach walks are included to deepen the connection with the natural environment.
The participants will have meaningful items and knowledge to take home.
The planned rhythm for the weekend includes scheduled creative sessions alongside shared meals and free time.

Life will still be beautifully messy. There will still be emails to answer, washing to fold and people asking for your time. Our hope is that you'll return home with more than happy memories. You'll leave with simple practices to help you pause, breathe and reconnect with the present moment whenever life begins to feel overwhelming. A way to quieten the noise of expectation, to recognise the 'shoulds' that were never yours to carry, and to return to your own creativity, curiosity and calm. Because this retreat isn't about escaping your everyday life. It's about discovering a gentler, more mindful way to live it – one moment at a time.
