I make tintable models for the Source engine for free! To request one, perform the following steps:
Direct message me (electrovoyage.) on Discord and include the path to the model. It can be found with Hammer's model browser. If your model is not from Portal 2, CS:GO or Half-Life 2, you'll also need to include the model's files. This could be:
Your mod's models/ and materials/ folders, where the 'mod' means any folder declared as a game in portal2/gameinfo.txt, your game's folder (e.g. Portal 2 is portal2/) or a portal2_dlc*/ folder
Your model's raw files (MDL, VTX, PHY, VVD) and its textures (VTF and VMT)
Your model's decompiled files (QC and all the SMD files) and its textures (VTF and VMT)
Then, specify which parts you'd like to be colorable. You can also provide an image, showing which parts you'd like to be colorable. Also feel free to provide any additional requests.
Wait for me to respond and I'll make the model tintable!
A tintable version of the file rack model. Made by desaturating the original texture and pointing the model to the new texture.
A version of the cardboard box modified to be tintable. Done by pointing it to a new texture, which is only tintable on the cover of the model.
A modified version of the computer prop that makes it not yellowed. Made by pointing it to a desaturated version of the original texture.
A modified version of the computer base prop to point to a desaturated version of the original texture
A version of the computer monitor model, modified to point to a desaturated version of the original texture.
A version of the keyboard and phone models that are not yellowed. Grouped because they use the same texture.
You can find more examples of the tintable models here.
File racks
Box
Various color boxes
The box covers are also colorable, because they use the same material as the actual boxes
