Safety Plan

Applied correctly, e.g., not sprayed directly into your face or another person’s face, the device poses no hazards. The nature of the device is that the droplets discharged from the nozzle will be more strongly attracted to the surfaces that they will be to you. Further, given the strong surface attraction there will be little to no lingering aerosol hazards, much less than what you could expect from hanging an air freshener in the unit. The safety plan outlined below is a very general plan aimed at providing baseline protection from common hazards involved in EMS unit decontamination and are not necessarily specific to the electrostatic sprayer.

Do not use the sprayer unless you have taken the training and the quiz!


Read all the instructions before using the appliance.


To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when an appliance is used near children.


This machine contains an electrostatic device that may interfere with sensitive medical devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators, or similar devices.


DO NOT operate this machine or stand within 10 feet if you use such medical devices. Contact your physician prior to operation if you are unsure if this machine will interfere with your medical device.


Do not use cordless sprayer while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.

Some Additional Do Nots..

  • DO NOT

    1. Use the sprayer until you completed the training program.

    2. Point sprayer at people. (it is not funny)

    3. Put electrode in water or other liquid.

    4. Change any electrostatic sprayer settings

    5. Use the sprayer by holding the barrel. Dripping solution from the discharge end of the sprayer may give you a tiny harmless shock (tingling). Steady by holding the fluid reservoir.

    6. Contact moving parts.

    7. Place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.


Some Additional Do's...

  • Only use attachments recommended or sold by the manufacturer.

  • Follow the designated workflow cab first and then the patient compartment

  • Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge
